International Students

An international community on the edge of London

International student

London has an unrivalled number of world-class museums, galleries and collections, but perhaps the greatest resource is the fabric and culture of the city itself. Our proximity to London keeps us in tune with the zeitgeist and easy access to international exhibitions, events and the everyday exhilaration of the city's streets. The buildings and streetscapes of the city provide a living education, and London is an important 'workshop' used regularly in all our courses.

At the same time, Kingston's location on the edge of England's capital city enables you to stand back from the hectic city centre and approach your work in a quieter environment. Kingston itself is a safe, friendly area with a thriving town centre and plenty of student-focused places where you can socialise. Most first- year students live in Kingston's halls of residence.

Teaching and Expertise

Studio practice, group activity and interaction are at the core of our teaching. Postgraduate courses are led by staff recognised as leaders in their fields in theory, practice and research. As a postgraduate student at Kingston, you will be encouraged to make the most of your time by networking, with the help of your tutors, among many art, design and architecture professionals.

The Learning Resource Centre at Knights Park

Studying at Knights Park Campus

Everything at Kingston School of Art (our new name from Septmber 2017) is in one building by the small Hogsmill River which leads to the Thames and is only a five minute walk from the centre of Kingston and all its shops, post office, banks, picturesque ancient market place and riverbank. In Knights Park (which is open at weekends too) there is the bar, café, shop and computer facilities as well as excellent studios, workshops, library, lecture and seminar rooms, student support and staff offices. In this friendly atmosphere dedicated to creative study you will not have to spend time or money travelling from place to place, everything you need is here for day to day teaching and learning.
