Professor of Art & Design History Stephen Barber launches his newest book, on the French writer Pierre Guyotat, at the ICA this May.
The first book on Guyotat’s work written in English, Revolutions and Aberrations is based on twenty years of dialogues with Guyotat.
Lauded by the likes of Foucault, Genet and Derrida during the 60s and 70s, Guyotat’s innovative use of language and capacity to outrage has made him a unique figure in art for over 50 years, with his contemporary work, such as Coma, as influential as ever.
The launch event will include screenings of film documents, such as Guyotat’s 1995 appearance at the ICA, as well as translations of his work. It will take place in the ICA Studio from 6pm on 27 May 2016.
