The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture offers a number of funding opportunities for research degrees.

Kingston University is a thriving centre for research in the Arts and Humanities and in 2011 was successful in securing AHRC Block Grant (Capacity Building) funding for 14 studentships across three years. The awards are designed to foster innovation and interdisciplinary research projects are welcomed.
For 2012-13, applications are invited for AHRC * studentships in the following areas:
- Masters Programmes across the broad areas of Design; Fine Art; Aesthetics and Art Theory; Creative Writing
*AHRC awards are fully funded with fees and maintenance grant at Home/EU fee level and are available for both full-time and part-time students. AHRC eligibility criteria apply. Full information on AHRC eligibility criteria can be found in Section 7 and Annex A of the AHRC Studentship Funding Guide. Please note that if you require a Tier 4 visa to study in the UK, you will not be eligible for this funding.
The Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture is also inviting applications for PhD studentships in the following areas of research strength:
Contemporary Fine Art Practice; Design Practice/Design; Digital Media; Modern Interiors; Visual and Material Culture; Architecture & Built Environment.
These awards will be partial or fees only studentships.
