This one-year course is designed to prepare you for entry to degree-level art and design programmes. Its fast-paced curriculum is taught within a hard-working but supportive atmosphere, helping you develop the skills you need to make the most of the next level of your education. It can take you onto art and design degree courses in any institution. If you would like to go on from this course to a BA(Hons) art and design degree at Kingston, you can have a pre-UCAS interview for a place at the University, subject to the standard and content of your work.
The course provides a strong grounding in five main subject areas:
Semester 1: students study each of the subject areas above in 5 days blocks.
Semester 2: students focus on their chosen subject area to begin building up their portfolio.
Semester 3: students are aided by staff through the UCAS process and they complete their Final Major Project.
Staff and students on the Art and Design Foundation programme are actively encouraged to interact with industry via ‘live’ projects on a number of levels. Find out more about some of our recent projects>
Our graduates hold positions in the very top organisations and often return to tell us of their successes. It's really rewarding when an old student comes back to the office where they were interviewed to let us know how well they are doing. It's nice they still think of us, and I suppose it's a measure of how much they enjoyed themselves, that they return to see us long after they have left Kingston University. What they say about us>
We are now accepting Home/EU and International applications for September 2013 entry.
*Applicants should note that this course is a Further Education Course and as such successful applicants are not eligible for student loans which are reserved for Higher Education students.
