- BSc (Hons) Building Surveying
Building surveyors specialise in the maintenance and care of buildings, working in areas such as building design or alteration, and in resolving disputes between adjoining owners or between landlord and tenant. The study of building surveying is therefore multidisciplinary, and covers topics from the fields of technology, building design, law and professional practice. - BSc (Hons) Property Planning and Development
Planning and development surveyors specialise in the identification of opportunities both for the development and, increasingly, for the reuse of buildings. This degree introduces you to the dynamics of the property market and the controls over property planning and development processes. It also concentrates on design issues and how property developments need to relate to the wider urban context to survive successfully over time. There is also an emphasis on sustainable development, and you will have the opportunity to debate the contribution you can make to the industry in modules that cover sustainable development and appraisal and commercial property market analysis. - BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying Consultancy
Quantity surveyors ensure that developments are completed on time and within budget. Much of their work is concerned with the financial aspects of construction, although they are increasingly involved in providing strategic business advice about property or development needs to clients. Management consultancy, value engineering, business risk management and facilities management are all growth areas within this field. - BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management
This course is ideal if you aim to become a general practice surveyor and would like to specialise in valuation of property or commercial investment management, or if you want to move into investment agency work. In particular, the course provides a detailed knowledge base of property investment and appraisal. - BSc (Hons) Residential Property
This new course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills you will need for a career in the residential property market, working within a property development or management company, or in a residential consultancy or agency or setting up your own residential property portfolio. - FdSc Historic Building Conservation
