Sandra Jehoel graduated from University College Utrecht (the Netherlands) with a multi-disciplinary BA. She also completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Surrey.
Sandra worked as a research fellow and PhD student at the University of Surrey (2003-2008) on a multi-disciplinary project on the design and production of tactile maps for visually impaired people (Tactile Inkjet Mapping Project). This project combined research in psychology, cartography and engineering, in order to develop an inkjet printer for the production of tactile maps, and to improve the design of tactile maps.
Sandra joined the Design for Environments, Design Research Centre at Kingston University in April 2008. She is currently working on a project on multisensory design interventions for indoor environments, investigating the effects of colour and odour on the perception of the environment.
