Reader in Design
Jakki Dehn ran a furniture design and manufacturing business for twenty five years and she has exhibited and sold work world-wide. Full-time teaching at Kingston enabled her to undertake in depth, international, research into sustainable design issues. Her research into new materials made from waste and the developing library of sustainable materials, has in turn excited the industry, leading to major collaborations with the Kingston students. She is currently developing an international travelling exhibition focusing on the sustainable development of materials and the design process following a £256K AHRC grant. She is a 2006 independent assessor for the AHRC.
